TWO ARRESTED ON 1996 CAPITAL MURDER COLD CASE
On July 24, 2015, The Edwards County Sheriff's Office served Capital Murder Arrest Warrants on two individuals accused of murdering a Edwards County woman in 1996 in the City of Rocksprings Texas.
Edwards County Deputies served the warrants without incident at S. Cedar Street in Rocksprings Texas at 9:15 PM. The arrested are George "Poche" Torres Jr. (37) of Lino Lakes Minnesota, and his sister Angelica Marie Torres (40) of Bloomington Prairie Minnesota.
The two are accused of Murdering their Aunt, Patricia Paz on or about February 26th 1996 during the course of an Aggravated Robbery in the 700 block of N. Well St in Rocksprings. Paz was a mentally challenged woman that everyone adored.
This murder happened 19 years ago and new developments helped solve the case. There are more arrest anticipated.
The Honorable Judge Souli Shanklin will magistrate the arrested individuals tomorrow, July 26, 2015 at 1:00 pm and a press conference with Sheriff Pamela Elliott is scheduled at 1:30 pm at the Edwards County Courthouse. All media will be invited to the courtroom while the suspects are being magistrated. We are encouraging you to attend this event.
