Edwards County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Border Patrol, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and Texas DPS Conducted four Active Shooter classes for some of our surrounding Law Enforcement Agencies
For the last 2 weeks ALERRT certified Active Shooter Instructors from the Edwards County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Border Patrol, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and Texas DPS have conducted four Active Shooter classes for some of our surrounding Law Enforcement Agencies.
In these 2 weeks close to 60 Officers from multiple agencies including the Edwards County Sheriff's Office, Kinney County Sheriff's Office, Real County Sheriff's Office, Real County Constable, Uvalde County Sheriff's Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas DPS, and U.S. Border Patrol participated in these classes.
These Instructors will teach two more classes this upcoming week in Junction that will train another 30 Officers. Law Enforcement Agencies represented in these classes will be from the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office, Kimble County Sheriff's Office, McCulloch County Sheriff's Office, Menard County Sheriff's Office, Brady Police Department, Fredericksburg Police Department, Junction Police Department, and Texas DPS.
These classes teach officers how to be better prepared when dealing with an Active Shooter Situation and what needs to be done once the threat is over.
We would like to thank Brackettville ISD, Junction ISD, and Nueces Canyon CISD for allowing us the use of their facilities for this training.
Also a big thank you to the local citizens and teachers from Nueces Canyon that came out as role players for some of the scenarios.
