                   Son murders mother in Rocksprings Texas

 

On September 29, 2015, at approximately 11:40 PM, Joseph J. Arrevalos, a 25 year old male Hispanic male, walked into the Edwards County Detention Center located in the City of Rocksprings, Edwards County, TX, and told the Dispatcher that his mother was unresponsive. The Dispatcher observed that Joseph had blood on his hands, face and leg so he immediately dispatched Deputies and EMS to the residence of Joseph, where he lives with his mother, Mildred Ruiz.

Edwards County Deputies went to the home of Mildred Ruiz, who is a 56 year old Hispanic female, located in the 800 block of North Well Street in the City of Rocksprings, Texas and located Mildred covered with blood inside her bedroom of the residence. It appeared that Mildred had been stabbed several times. Mildred was given CPR by Deputies at the scene and was transported by EMS to Air Life’s location to be further transported to San Antonio. Unfortunately, Mildred died prior to arrival of Air Life and pronounced deceased at 0100 by the attending physician.

The Texas Rangers were called to the location to assist The Edwards County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation. “Having the Texas Rangers assist in the preliminary investigation is standard practice in most counties in the State of Texas, Sheriff Pamela Elliott said”.

“Mildred’s smile and kind disposition always welcomed anyone she met when they visited Vaquero’s Restaurant located in the City of Rocksprings. I am deeply saddened by this tragic event and my condolences to the family as they mourn the loss of a very precious woman.”

During the interview, Joseph Arrevalos confessed to murdering his mother, Mildred Ruiz by stabbing her 2 to 3 times in her chest. Joseph J. Arrevalos remains in the Edwards County Jail at this time.
